Full Job Description

Monday/Tuesday - 7am to 3pm, plus cover for annual leave and sickness for both Theatre Admissions Unit & Rockingham Day Unit.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Speciality Services Division for a motivated, enthusiastic and versatile Ward Clerk to join our team of clinical and admin staff.

The successful applicant will be the important first point of contact for the wards to patients, staff and visitors. You will be responsible for providing an effective and well organised administration/reception service to the wards., To monitor the movement of patients and undertake general clerical duties within Theatre Admissions Unit to ensure patients are administratively ready for surgery.

To provide cover up to full-time in the absence of the other part-time ward clerk/receptionist for both annual leave and sickness.

Theatre Admissions Unit is a small, friendly and extremely busy unit that welcomes new team members enthusiastically.

The nature of the job requires a person who is discreet and trustworthy and has a temperament to deal with senior staff, patients and their relatives and members of the general public in a professional manner.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, can do attitude Ward Clerk with excellent communication skills and someone who will thrive in a busy environment.

Key elements to this post will be tact and diplomacy and you will need to have excellent communication skills as well as demonstrating a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team environment.
