Full Job Description

This post will contribute to the directorate's common goals which include:

  • Ensuring a high-quality learning experience which leads to excellent achievement, progression, and destination outcomes for all students. Supporting the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of Nacro's curriculum to ensure that it meets the needs and aspirations of students and the employment and skills priorities of the regions that we serve. Leading and collaborating with a diverse range of teams across the directorate and the wider organisation to support, inform and enable the work of the directorate. Developing and implementing Nacro policies and procedures to support a high-quality, inclusive, and supportive learning experience for all students and that ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. The Supported Internship Delivery Lead is responsible for the delivery of our Supported Internships Programme which is in partnership with DFN Project Search. The role is to

  • teach and support students undertaking a Supported Internship Programme to help them develop the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviour to secure permanent sustained employment. The teaching on this programme will take place on the site of the host employer each morning and the curriculum will focus on employability and personal development skills with some English and Maths Functional skills support where required.,
  • Deliver the Supported Internship employability and personal development curriculum in line with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF), DFN Project Search model and Nacro curriculum guidance and quality standards., Support students with developing their English and Maths skills and promote the importance of the application of these skills within their Supported Internship Programme placements. Support students within their work placements in line with the Supported Employment model. Create individual learning plans which identify young people's needs and support requirements. Record and monitor progress of students against individual learning plans. Assist students in undertaking job searches, applying for job vacancies and completing Access to Work Applications with their job coaches. Support students to work towards achieving outcomes identified in their EHCP.

    English & Maths qualifications to level 2 or above


  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards a DET qualification. Experience of working with students with SEND Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, and the ability to apply these to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students, particularly, those who may be vulnerable or at risk. Knowledge of the legal requirements and statutory guidance of the SEND Code of Practice; experience in contributing to annual EHCP review meetings.

    Salary - Up to £30,326
