Resettlement Coach

You will be part of a team that works with our Service Users, who are known to the criminal justice system under the supervision of London Probation, and living in temporary supported accommodation as they prepare to reintegrate into society.

You will support Service Users who are homeless upon release from prison into supported accommodation. As part of our Resettlement Team, you will also support people who are experiencing mental health pressures in gaining access to services and developing coping skills.

This job description is not exhaustive and the Resettlement Coach may be required from time to time to carry out other duties appropriate to the post.

• Experience of working with vulnerable young people, homeless people or in another social care setting. Or life experience of being a vulnerable young person, homelessness or the criminal justice system


• Ability to plan support and set goals


• Previous experience of working in a partnership environment or with other agencies.


• Experience of working with challenging behaviour


• Experience of keeping accurate and up to date records


Knowledge and Skills

• Demonstrate a knowledge of the needs of offenders and the barriers they face


• Knowledge of the range of services available to young people or vulnerable adults


• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with younger people


• Ability to undertake partnership work with a range of agencies


• Excellent organisation skills and timekeeping


• Ability to plan and organise own workload


• Ability to manage conflict


• Committed to own professional development


• Computer literate with experience using MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a CRM system, Haringey: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)


Education:

• A-Level or equivalent (preferred)


Experience:

• working with vulnerable people: 1 year (required)
