Being the Station focal point for Radiation Safety, including Electromagnetic Frequency and Laser safety. Provide information, data and specialist advice, Implementing and maintaining radiation safety arrangements for the Station iaw JSP 392.

Developing and reviewing Radiation Safety Station Standing Orders.

Acting as the Workplace Supervisor - WPS(RM) for the heritage centre.

Liaise with the appointed corporate body Radiation Protection Advisor (DSTL) and other Enforcing Authorities.

Represent RAF Waddington as a member of the Air Radiation Hazards Committee (Air RadHaz). attend meetings as required by CESO(RAF).

Liaising with CESO(RAF) to arrange radiation training for Station personnel or facilitating radiation courses at RAF Waddington on behalf of CESO(RAF)

Investigating Radiation Safety hazards (whenever they are drawn to the SHSA's attention) and referring pertinent matters to the Station Commander.

Investigate instances and incidents relating to the occupational health and safety and welfare of personnel (including Station leisure activities), with a view to preventing recurrence and referring all pertinent matters to the Station Commander.

Being the Deputy Station Health and Safety Adviser (DSHSA). Advising and assisting the Station Commander, the Station Commander's Executives and Line Management in conjunction with Specialist Safety Officers, in all aspects of occupational Health and Safety and the implications for the Station

Conducting HSEP audits of all workplaces, Clubs/Societies/ Encroachments and other organisations for which the Station Commander has responsibility.
