Full Job Description

In this role we require someone with extensive manual testing experience to be responsible for the quality of our platform.

As a member of the Software Development Team, you will be working alongside like-minded Software Engineers whose priority is quality and where testing is at the forefront of the agenda.

You will use tried and tested approaches by employing mind map-driven software testing which we believe makes testing fun!

You will be responsible for requirement analysis, test estimation, test planning, executing tests and conducting exploratory testing on the newly built but constantly evolving web platform as well as on our internal platform / API.

You will have experience logging defects in JIRA and documenting testing notes in detail. You will build a relationship with our Digital Team to support them with delivering an extensive digital roadmap.

You will also be open to learning testing automation as the next step of evolution of the platform.

This role is predominantly a remote position, but we would love you to come to Burton on Trent office during your first few weeks to get a feel for the business and meet the rest of your team. We are also a sociable bunch and think its important that you join us at head office occasionally for social events and business updates.,

  • Applying your knowledge and experience to ensure quality.

  • Test planning and conducting quality testing against our web and internal platforms.

  • Contributing / creating regression test packs and performing manual regression testing.

  • Working closely with the external Digital Agency, internal Digital Team, project owner and wider business stakeholders to review and challenge requirements / acceptance criteria of changes.

  • Working with the business to identify areas of improvement and helping to facilitate UAT.

  • Producing test documentation (test plan / test scripts) to an agreed standard.

  • Providing test estimates and reporting progress to Software Development Manager.

  • Creating and maintaining product knowledge documentation (for both Technology team and the wider business).

  • Conducting post release checks to ensure successful deployment.

  • Being a constant champion for quality by setting and communicating high standards throughout the process.

    · An exemplary testing background/demonstrable experience in manual testing.


  • · Articulate, self-motivated and capable of working closely within a team but also on your own initiative.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and best practices as well as waterfall and hybrid approaches.

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Problem solving


  • Desirable Skills/Capabilities

    · Experience with creating / maintaining automated tests within Playwright Test Automation framework.

    · Travel & Tourism experience will be highly regarded, as well as software as a service environments or experience working on high load ecommerce or transactional processing systems.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: £31,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
