Full Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our team to help provide engaging experiences for visitors at our vibrant and busy museums. You will need to be keen to roll up your sleeves, have a strong dedication to delivering exceptional customer care through teamwork, flexibility and hard work in a friendly environment.

Really good local knowledge would be an advantage, as would an interest in local history. You will need to be able to work between our sites and be happy to work alternate weekends.

This can be a physically demanding but rewarding job, which can sometimes mean being on your feet talking to people all day.

Some of the duties of this role include:

Engaging with visitors to ensure that the museum is a welcoming and enjoyable place to visit.
Supporting all museum operations and activities to ensure visitors gain the best possible experience of their visit to the museum.
Working within the reception, shop, café and other public areas.
Ensuring the security of the museum, collections, staff & visitors.
Cleaning exhibits and public areas.
Supporting the care and presentation of the collections.

This post is permanent. This post is based at Lancaster City Museums.

The hours of work for this position are 15.38 per week, on a two-week rota, which includes alternate weekends:

Week1: Monday 11:45-16:15, Friday 10:00 -16:15

Week 2: Monday 11:45-16:15, Friday 10:00 -16:15, Saturday 11:45-16:15, Sunday 9:30-16:15, Lancaster is a great place to work, as well as being part of something special you will also benefit from:
