Full Job Description

The University of South Wales is an innovative, thriving and sustainable institution that is making a significant contribution to the economic, social and cultural prosperity of the region.

The Engagement Services Coordinator role is a new position which will be key to the success of USW's flagship engagement hub based at Newport Campus. The role offers broad exposure to USW's Engagement Services activity, spanning business, community and graduate start-up functions and is ideally suited to a candidate who thrives on building great relationships, providing exceptional customer service and takes satisfaction in successfully delivering collaborative events and projects.

Supported by the Head of Engagement Services and Stiwdio Incubator Manager, the post holder will co-ordinate operational running of USW's Newport engagement hub which will be home to USW Exchange (our business and community engagement unit); Start-up Stiwdio (our graduate incubator) and USW Events and Engagement. The role will also provide coordination and delivery support to key external engagement projects being delivered by Engagement and Enterprise e.g. the CCR Industry-Academic Partnerships and RWIF funded external engagement schemes.

This role is predominantly based on-site at our Newport campus and will require some occasional travel to work from our business engagement spaces in Cardiff and Pontypridd. This is a full time fixed term post for a period of two years.

The university is currently operating a hybrid-model of working. However, the successful candidate would be expected to work on-campus (Newport) for the majority of days; to work some evenings/mornings where events require is essential.

If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
