VDI Technical Architect

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Technology Architect to join our dynamic and rapidly expanding Workplace Practice within Computacenter, with a strong focus on Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Technologies. The role will involve travel throughout the UK.
The Technology Architect will deliver both pre and post sales technical consultancy to our customers, leading teams of consultants in delivery/implementation engagements. This includes the design, implementation, and configuration of complex, large scale multi-platform-based solutions. In addition, the Technology Architect will provide pre-sales support to internal and external customers in defining complex technical solutions including costs.
You will be responsible for providing technical leadership to the team and providing guidance to internal and external customers in defining complex technical strategies with leading edge technologies.
As a predominantly client facing role you need proven skills in a customer facing position, designing and implementing VDI End User Compute (EUC) solutions to corporate or public sector organisations.
What you'll do

• Provide technical governance of in-flight projects


• Ability to lead the design and implementation of complex technical solutions


• Host customer opportunity / strategy meetings, including presenting solutions from a commercial and business perspective


• Own and lead the creation of technical pre-sales responses and own the creation of costs


• Own the remediation of inflight bids and projects where issues exist


• Quality assure deliverables produced by team members to ensure consistency and accuracy within a single technology solution


• Identify other Computacenter service and sales opportunities


• Ability to support sensitive customer issues at a senior level


• Ensure consultancy assignments are undertaken consistently and with quality, using Prince2 and Agile methodologies


• Highlight all technical risks ensuring that Computacenter's exposure to commercial loss can be minimised


• Keep up to date with current and future market developments, competitors, technologies, products and strategies


• Build and develop relationships with key stakeholders across Computacenter


• Develop relationships with partners and vendors to enhance opportunities and capabilities for the practice
  
  Leadership of solution design and costing experience


• Experience of Architecture methodologies e.g. TOGAF


• Detailed product knowledge of the following technologies;

+ Windows Azure Virtual Desktop
+ Windows 365
+ Citrix

+ Associated certifications

Desired Technical Skills

• Microsoft Modern Management (Co-managed or Intune managed) and Windows 11


• Deployment Toolset(s) - Microsoft Intune and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)


• Desktop security product knowledge - Microsoft Defender Suite


• Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory and Windows Server knowledge


• Microsoft 365 Suite


• Apple Device Management - Jamf
