Full Job Description

Here at Liverpool Football Club, we are looking for an experienced Safety Officer to join our safety team. To report into and support the Senior Safety Manager in the delivery of various events. You will be responsible for all aspects of event safety linked to Anfield Stadium, UEFA competition operations, and pre-season events.,

  • Perform the role of Safety Officer as outlined in the Green/ Purple Guide - Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds/ Guide to Safety at Music & Other Events (if not already qualified, there will be an expectation that the individual will work towards and achieve this qualification in a timely manner).

  • Pre-match/ pre-tour planning reconnaissance visits, ticket collection point logistics, match day safety duties, and responsibilities associated with the EFL, PL, UEFA.

  • Assist and liaise with the Senior Safety Manager in relation to the preparation of all contingency plans and documentation in support of the Ground Safety Certificate.

  • Deal efficiently and effectively with the investigation of any complaints and liaise closely with the Fan Experience Department to seek satisfactory outcomes and resolution.

  • Manage all personnel who are accountable to you.

  • Liaise with outside bodies such as the Certifying Authority (LCC) and emergency services etc. as and when necessary.

  • Ensure that safety staff are appropriately trained and deployed to coordinate and carry out emergency evacuation procedures and other duties as laid down in The Club's Safety Operations Manual.

  • In association with the Facilities Manager, ensure pre-match inspections of the Stadium are completed and recorded.

  • Carry out pre-match briefings/debriefs.

  • Prepare and complete all necessary documentation, e.g. Match Day Briefing slides, risk assessments, Intelligence reports, FSOA match reports and other match related documentation.

    Have relevant knowledge of legislation in relation to safety of events.

  • Have knowledge and understanding of Premier League, UEFA, RFL, and other applicable regulations in relation to hosting sporting events within the stadium.

  • Have experience liaising with safety regulatory bodies and diverse range of UK Government Departments & Agencies.

  • Be able to complete detailed reports, contingency plans, and be able to undertake and complete risk assessments, with experience relating to communication systems.

  • Have substantial crowd management & public order/ event management experience.

  • Professional qualification in Spectator Safety (Level 4 NVQ in Spectator Safety Management) If not already qualified, there will be an expectation that the individual will work towards and achieve this qualification in a timely manner).

    This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week, 5 from 7 days, including evenings and weekends. Your main base will be at Anfield Stadium.
