Full Job Description

Salford City Council's innovative Route 29 Service is looking for a dynamic Residential Deputy Manager to assist in leading our No Wrong Door Model Residential Respite Children's Home. This role offers the unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering approach that integrates services and support for young people in our community. If you're a leader who is eager to make a substantial impact on young lives, we need you!,

  • Assisting the Route 29 Manager in daily operations, ensuring high standards of care and innovative practice within the home.

  • Leading and Mentoring: Supervise and develop a team dedicated to providing therapeutic and holistic care to the children.

  • Implementing Therapeutic Approaches: Use your expertise in therapeutic childcare to foster an environment where every child can thrive.

  • Ensuring Compliance and Quality: Help maintain compliance with all regulatory standards while striving for excellence in care and support.

Experienced Supervisor: You have proven experience supervising staff within a children's home setting.

  • Therapeutic Expertise: A strong background in therapeutic approaches to childcare, with a passion for supportive and transformative care.

  • Qualifications: A Level 3 /4 Diploma in Residential Childcare is essential. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent is highly desirable (or willingness to work towards this).

  • Flexible and Committed: Willing to work flexible hours to meet the diverse needs of our service and the young people we support.

  • We are looking for someone who really wants to make a difference. You will need to have extensive experience of working with vulnerable adolescents who have complex needs and present high risk.

  • You will have experience of managing and supervising staff. You will demonstrate our values of Pride, Passion, People and Personal Responsibility to give young people the stability, skills and support to manage their transition to adulthood and independence successfully.

  • Ready to Make a Difference?

Our No Wrong Door model will focus on providing a robust and asset based intervention to young people aged 12 - 17 years who are on the edge of care, in care or at risk of placement instability. We believe that the NWD approach embraces a closer working relationship with adolescents - a 'working with' rather than a 'doing to' approach.

We feel passionately about being a 'listening' organisation and one where young people do not need to repeat their story to each professional, no matter which agency is involved. Having no preconceived time limits on the duration of support will enable change to happen at a pace that the young person can manage and will have a greater opportunity for sustained improvements and future outcomes.
