Full Job Description

  • Provide general day to day IT support to our customers, responding to queries by phone, email and our ticketing system.

  • Keeping customer knowledgebase up-to-date including customer assets, configurations and documentation of processes and procedures.

  • Using our RMM system to monitor and remotely resolve the bulk of customer queries.

  • Communicating directly with end users to ensure issues are satisfactorily resolved.

  • Visiting customers to resolve issues on-site and install new hardware.

  • Liaising with customers and 3rd party vendors to ensure problems are dealt with in SLAs.

  • Ensure issues are fully documented in ticketing system from initial contact to diagnostics and resolution.

    Microsoft 365, including Office, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Entra ID.

  • Microsoft Windows Desktop O/S from Windows 10 onwards.

  • Microsoft Windows Server O/S from 2012 R2 onwards, including AD, GPOs, Print Management etc.

  • Managed Anti-Virus.

  • Printers, Scanners and other Peripherals.


  • Beneficial Skills:
  • Microsoft Intune.

  • Power Shell Scripting.

  • Network Troubleshooting including Routing, VLANs, Wifi.

  • Installation of Hardware including Servers, PCs

  • Network installation including cable termination, trunking and cable routing., GCSE or equivalent (preferred), Technical support: 2 years (required)

    Gatenby Services provide managed IT support to a wide range of UK based, local and international businesses. Following continued growth, we are recruiting an additional IT Support Engineer to work in our Wells based office.
