We are urgently looking for a suitably qualified, experienced and capable electrical project manager to take the lead in the day-to-day operations and management of Red Spark Electrical & Maintenance Ltd.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role across a portfolio of concurrent projects for a dynamic, quality-driven company.

About Red Spark Electrical & Maintenance Ltd

Established in 2019 and an associate company of Smith & Brenson Construction and Maintenance Ltd and Green Spark Renewables Ltd, Red Spark are an NICEIC-registered electrical contractor serving diverse clients in the the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, based in Soundwell, South Gloucestershire (BS16) on the outskirts of Bristol.

We work throughout the South West, South Wales and beyond. All three companies share the same office and professional support staff (to include surveying, finance, HR, and health & safety).

Typical clients include independent and local authority schools and universities, local government and emergency services, commercial and domestic insurance claims management companies, social housing providers, NHS and private hospitals, heritage and visitor attractions, places of worship and prestigious hotels.,

  • Responsible for planning and overseeing all electrical aspects of projects for Red Spark Electrical & Maintenance (to include Smith & Brenson Construction and Maintenance Ltd and Green Spark Renewables Ltd)

  • Quoting for electrical contracting works (with in-house support)

  • Managing projects through all phases until handover in a timely manner and to required company and regulatory standards

  • Line management of small site staff team

  • Co-ordinating and allocating staff and subcontractors to projects

  • Attend client site meetings, as and when required

  • Ensuring that complete and comprehensive records are collated and maintained covering all aspects of quality control, testing and commissioning

  • Overseeing the preparation of operation & maintenance (O&M) manuals

  • Providing technical support and expertise to the internal project team and relevant stakeholders

  • Managing variation costings

  • Relationship management with existing and potential clients and professional partners, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve smooth operational and commercial progression of projects in a cost-effective way

  • Ensuring health & safety and welfare is maintained and adhered to at project level

  • Working "on the tools" to support the on-site team where required

  • Proactively supporting company growth and development where appropriate

    Qualified electrician

  • ECS Gold Card

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role

  • Experience across diverse work sites in relation to age of structures, size, scope and value

  • Quoting/estimating experience

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS criminal record check

  • Sociable and friendly personality

  • Self-starter with good attention to detail

  • Proficient IT user
