BS3 Community Development is committed to upskilling and supporting apprentices into the Early Years sector. We are looking for a caring and motivated Early Years Apprentice to join our nursery team.

Your new opportunity…

We have an apprentice position available working with our children aged 9 months to school age.

All our apprentices' study and are employed on 23-month contracts. You will have the opportunity to work in two different age groups during your studies.

You will see the potential in all the children in our care and will work closely with our team to create interesting opportunities for each child to develop, shine and grow.

Whilst some experience in a childcare setting would be preferable, we are interested to hear from you if you are looking to begin your career in early years. The post is listed as full time, but we are committed to supporting your studies and would support up to 6 hours a week as dedicated study time with 34 hours per week spent working as an apprentice in our rooms.

We are a charity and run as a community business and we are proud to say that we reinvest our profits back into developing the community of the children we look after., About you and the role: You are motivated, reliable and have a positive attitude and approach to work with children. Your role involves supporting the smooth running of the nursery during lunch time and assisting with activities and experiences for children. Some previous related experience is desirable including first aid and food hygiene training; however, we would be willing to offer training and support to the right candidate.

HOURS: 40 hour per week contract with 34 hours working and 6 hours study time.

RATE OF PAY: £8.00 per hour as a starting salary increasing to £8.24 in year 2, unless you have completed your first year's training and you are over the age of 19, in which case the rate will be in line with the government minimum). 2-year fixed contract whilst undertaking and studying a Level 3 Childcare course.

QUALIFICATIONS: Can be unqualified or minimum recognised Level 2 qualification
