Full Job Description

A friendly and confident personal assistant is required to support a child, working under the direction of Mum who is the main carer
This young man has has Global Development Delay, a brain condition called Periventricular Leukomalacia, Hyper Mobility, Sensory processing disorder and autism, he is also awaiting an adhd assessment. Although he is non- verbal, he is able to demonstrate some of his needs by leading you to want he wants or bringing you want he wants. Mainly food or drink. He currently has no way of communicating at all, he uses visuals at school and home but at the present moment he is refusing to use them. He is a happy going little boy who is always smiling but he displays challenging behaviours quite often, this can happen if he is content or if he is frustrated/angry. He will grab, hit kick and lash out if you are in his personal space and sometimes just out of the blue. He will constantly grab his legs and chest all day long we try to stop this by giving him a sensory toy to keep his hands occupied. He will also hit his head and bang his head on his buggy. He likes to hold things in his
hands when out in his buggy, but he will throw them too.
He loves being outdoors in his buggy, he loves long walks in the park watching the birds in the sky and sunny walks on the beach, he loves water play and trampolining. Full personal care.
We are looking for a PA to take him out Saturday and Sundays and in the school holidays.
Flexible hours on a weekend.
