Full Job Description

This role receives a market pay supplement. The salary is (£41,223 - £45,403, full time equivalent including £3,000 supplement pro-rata) for a grade 9 Senior Social Worker or; (£35,834 - £39,223, full time equivalent including £1,000 supplement pro-rata) for a grade 8 Social Worker including newly qualified workers. This payment is reviewed on a 12 monthly basis.

The Network Disability Team, which is known as the Complex Disability Team, are looking for a Community Social Worker to join a busy social work team covering the Neath Port Talbot area. Following an internal promotion, the post has become available to join an established team with excellent staff retention, which works towards delivering excellent standards in a positive working environment.

The Network Disability Team works with individuals requiring a response to complex health and social care needs, which have a substantial impact on them being able to achieve their identified personal well-being outcomes. The team support a range of needs that include individuals, who have a learning disability, physical disability, acquired brain injury and neurodiversity. In addition to this, the team are involved in a critical time for young people transitioning from Children to Adult services when they turn eighteen.

You will be provided with regular supervision and access to an excellent training programme with access to support for all Community Social Workers.

NPT will invest in their staff with opportunities to enhance their learning by providing a comprehensive training programme. For more experienced social workers there will be opportunities to train as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner, Practice Educator, as well management and leadership training courses.

    Ideally you will have;

    Applicants will need to be social work qualified and professionally registered as a social worker with Social Care Wales.

    You will need a knowledge and working practice of the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, to include outcome focused assessment and a working knowledge of the Mental Health Measures (2010), Continuing Health Care, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
