Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity to join The Enstar Group as a Claims Apprentice alongside studying towards the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner qualification. As an apprentice, you will work with the Claims team gaining the necessary experience required to evaluate and resolve a wide plethora of claims covering multiple lines of business such as Marine, Aviation, Professional Indemnity and General Liability and any associated claims related litigation., As a Claims team we are always looking to adapt and improve upon our processes whilst leveraging on technology, data and analytics to optimise results and drive continuous improvement.

During the programme, you will spend a couple of months with the Operations team, understanding their processes and how they support the Claims function and the wider business. Through this rotation you will also gain knowledge and understanding of the processes and technology which underpins the London Insurance Market.

During the programme, you will:

  • Undertake basic investigation, evaluation and negotiation of claims within set authority parameters in a manner that consistently meets our policies and procedures across multiple line

  • Gain an understanding of setting accurate case reserves in accordance with our reserving philosophies

  • Obtain a basic working knowledge of contract wordings, coverage and reinsurance structures, whilst developing an understanding of the applicable aspects of insurance contracts and processes

  • Interact with attorneys and co-insurers as appropriate

  • Have a working knowledge of ECF ("Electronic Claim File") which is a system used by brokers to notify and update Lloyd's insurers of claims and for insurers to respond to brokers and associated claim systems

  • Assist with reporting both claim developments and account information to the management team as required

  • Assist with TPA ("Third Party Administrators") audits and round table reviews
