Full Job Description

It is the responsibility of the Senior Care Worker to assist the Registered Manager to organise the day to day running of the service provision through the development of staff and clients rotas for their assigned runs and geographic areas, which provide safe, timely care and support for service users to meet their agreed care plans and contractual requirements.

The assigned rotas will be produced in line with agreed systems of work and policies and procedures, and ensure effective staff skill mix to meet the individual needs of the service users.

Employment Requirements

The role will be subject to employment checks which comply with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulations) Regulated Activities 2014, including regulations 18, 19, and Schedules 3, as well as the Right to Work Checks set out by the UK Government.

Essential Functions

1. To be responsible to the Registered Manager for the day to day service provision to the Service Users by producing detailed work schedules (rotas) for the Care Workers and service users providing both written and verbal instructions/guidance to them.

2. To be aware of the Quality Assurance Policy of the Company in the provision of a quality service to the Service Users.

3. To represent the Company in a professional manner at all times, on the telephone, face to face or in written communication.

4. To ensure that telephones are answered promptly and people are spoken to in a polite and respectful manner.

5. To maintain confidentiality at all times and carry out the Company's Confidentiality Policy.

6. To carry out the monitoring of the service in the field to ensure that it meets the quality targets of the Company, contractual requirements of the commissioners and the NMS and to keep the Registered Manager informed of the outcomes and issues that are identified.

7. To report to the Registered Manager any issues regarding the legislative requirements concerning the services provided and the staff providing them.

8. To visit Service Users and to make reviews of the written Care Plans, examine the written records of medication administration, finance and daily log notes kept by Staff as required by the Registered Manager.

9. To report to the Registered Manager any financial issues that have an impact on the overall budget.

10.To assist the Registered Manager with the recruitment, induction, training and supervision of Staff.

11.At the direction of the Registered Manager - to carry out spot checks and Supervision reviews of the Staff's performance.

12.To assist the Registered Manager in holding team meetings for Care Workers. To produce reports as required by the Registered Manager.

13.To maintain accurate records.

14.Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with clients, family, major customers, relevant local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range of quality and compliant services.

15.Deliver the implementation of equal opportunities policies in all aspects of the company's work in compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

16.Implement policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety legislation and regulations pertinent to the services and the organisation.

17.Ensure all new policies, policy updates and changes are communicated to staff and training providers to ensure these are effectively embedded within the organisation and service delivery.

18.Act and work in an open and honest manner, with integrity and transparency in line with Regulation 20 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulations) Regulated Activities 2014.

19.Identify coproduction opportunities working in partnership with clients and family, staff and other stakeholders to develop and shape the care assessments and plans
