Apprentice IT Support Technician

We have a fantastic opportunity where you can earn and learn whilst working with our experienced IT team as an IT Support Technician based at our largest dealership on Ransomes Europark, Ipswich.

The Motor Industry is a fast-paced, ever-developing industry, with more and more transactions taking place on-line, virtually or over the phone, so making sure our staff have the latest technology to accommodate this gives us a wide range of technological demands for our IT department to fulfil.

As part of this apprenticeship, you will be required to study towards the Information Communication Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard at Colchester Institute. You will attend college one day per week at Colchester Institute Colchester Campus.

The role will include assisting the IT team in the daily control, support, maintenance and implementation of IT systems, hardware and software across the entire John Grose Group.

What you will learn:

• How to provide first line IT support for all employees within the organisation


• To complete set up and maintenance of PC users, applications and business systems


• Actively respond to queries and IT issues


• Supporting the administration of centralised servers and networks


• Maintaining IT department administration and updating internal records


• Liaise with third party hardware and software supplies to support and fix issues


• Be disciplined in communication, internal customer service and IT administration skills


• Attend external sites for issue resolution and pro-active maintenance
  
  The ability to show a solid interest and a desire to achieve in an IT environment


• The ability to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment


• Great time management and communication skills


• A natural aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving


• A can-do approach to supporting colleagues across the business, GCSEs grades A - C / 9 - 4 or equivalent, including English and Maths. All candidates will be required to complete Colchester Institute's mandatory assessment.

Salary starting at £13,312 per annum

The apprenticeship will last approximately 18 months with the possibility of a permanent position, continued formal learning and salary reviews.
