Full Job Description

The role of an Actuarial Reporting Manager is of great importance within AXA UK and requires someone with the ability to work well with key stakeholders and ensure key project timescales for completion of finance reporting to be met. As an Actuarial Reporting Manager, within the actuarial workstream you'll be a leader in delivery of the actuarial aspects of the AXA UK IFRS17 and SII actuarial reporting requirements. This includes updating and running of standards, procedures and tools required within projects.

You'll make incremental improvements to processes to ensure consistency across the Actuarial team. You'll be a clear communicator and take a timely and effective approach with the appropriate audience.

At AXA we work smart, this role is non-office based meaning you can predominantly work from home or if in a field based role, you'll travel to visit offices or client sites as required.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work with planning to improve and lead delivery of actuarial IFRS17 support for plan and forecast.

  • Provide ongoing development of communication and training for actuarial reserving teams and key stakeholders on IFRS 17 requirements and solutions, on project progress and deliverables.

  • Develop innovative improvements and opportunities, to align the actuarial reserving and booking activities under IFRS 17 and Solvency II.

  • Lead regular production of IFRS17 reserves, KPIs and regular reports, liaising with Finance, AXA Group, Capital Modelling, and other stakeholders to ensure Actuarial requirements are met.

  • Help to embed cross-team activities within a business as usual environment by providing a link and identify efficiency savings between the IFRS17 and Solvency II team.

  • Undertake and provide solutions for emerging reporting requirements.

  • Work with auditors for resolving any queries related to SII and IFRS17.

  • Independently lead stakeholder engagement including peers within Finance, Auditors, Group

    Strong technical experience in one or more of actuarial reserving, capital modelling and reinsurance.

  • Experience in IFRS17 and SII is essential.

  • Demonstrate equivalent technical expertise and insurance knowledge.

  • Experience of operating in a change environment desired alongside leading an established team.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines whilst maintaining reliability and accuracy.

  • Knowledge of working in cloud, Python, SQL is desired.

  • Strong organization and time management skills.

  • Ability to adapt your approach to each stakeholder according to the situation whilst maintaining a high level of trust by being open and honest and putting the customer first.

  • Relationship building skills within and outside finance and actuarial, with financial analysis and modelling skills.
